 - A blend of multiple Martial Art disciplines. Korean Karate, Aikido,  Judo,  Hapkido,  Jujitsu,  Kickboxing,  Jeet Kune Do  & more !!!

 - Step by step instruction

 - NO KATAS / FORMS here.

      - we work on actual applications to create muscle memory.  Katas do not provide this at  a practical level in todays training.  Its training for what works in reality when reality comes charging at YOU !!!!

-Muscle memory is highly overlooked.  If you spend to much time on patternized forms created by someone elses fighting theory over 1,000 or 2,000 years ago, you may get yourself in trouble.  Katas can provied a workout if they are concentrated, and good for joint mobility.  But, if you do not train continously on actual applications with self defense and free sparring, etc, you will not develope the muscle memory needed to enhance your technical skills.

WHAT IS BROWNS MIXED MARTIAL ARTS?

It is a way we can utilize to make training successful and true to ourselves.  It is a way of self improvement.  It is a way of confidence.  It is a way free of tradition.  It is a way of self expression.  It is a way of realization.

It is simply. . . . just a "way"

What in the world does this mean?

It means that in my past, I have been fortunate enough to have experienced numerous Martial Art disciplines.  I have been involved in Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Aikido, Kung Fu, Judo, Hapkido and many others.  I have also been very fortunate to have been  able to compete in both Karate Tournaments, and also Full Contact & Kickboxing.

With that, I have certainly won some titles, but I have also lost some as well.  There are enough people out there claiming to be unbeatable warriors, I don't need to add to that rediculous list.  Reality is reality.

I have learned a great deal from my experience and studies.  I treasure the history of the Martial Arts.  This goes for all styles; however, I also realize that to dwell too much on the past, we rob ourselves of the future.  This is why we must always be willing to "change" and adapt.

In my system, we use powerful kicks from Thai Boxing and Tae Kwon Do.  We mix our hand strikes with elements of Boxing, Jeet Kune Do and Kickboxing.  We adapt a great portion of self-defense from Hapkido, Aikido, Kung Fu.  And then we may end up on the ground with combinations from Judo and Jujitsu.  We blend all things that work.  When I find something that does not seem applicable or universal, I get rid of it and simply move on.

I highly recommend that you study and know your history of the Art you study.  Afterwards, don't hesitate to know the history of other styles.  Knowledge is a powerful tool and a great way to start or enhance your Martial Art experience.

With this, you understand that NO STYLE is best.  Each style is only as good as YOU make it.  There is NO exceptions to this rule.  If an instructor guides you otherwise, its time to move on.
